About Us
The Studio of Architecture is an architecture, interior and landscape design firm founded in Southern California in 1987 and is now based in Tucson, Arizona. We maintain strong ties to our Southern California clients while expanding opportunities in Arizona. The studio was established as a commitment to design creativity in architecture & design.
The firm builds upon the principle that the clients’ and users’ needs are fully met. To accomplish this, the principals of the firm follow the project from the initial client meetings to completion of construction. Our projects are organized in collaborative studio teams, led by principals with experience in an exceptionally wide range of building types. Clients are thus assured design and management continuity and the personal attention of the principals.
We are dedicated to providing quality architecture by providing personal service and to becoming a resource for our clients. Creative design responds to the needs of our clients and offers more than a solution to problems. We believe architecture should inspire as well as expand opportunities for our clients.
Our work includes a diverse array of project types including single and multi-family housing, offices, restaurants, retail, fitness and dance studios, mixed use, adaptive reuse, parks and community centers, hospitality and urban design.
How We Work
Since our inception 35 years ago, Studio of Architecture has created a wide range of project types at various scales. We have adopted a flexible design approach that draws upon a broad range of skills. With professional and educational backgrounds in architecture, landscape architecture, interior design and sustainability, SoA works with each client and community of users to explore the relationship each discipline plays upon the project as a whole. This multidisciplinary approach generates more integrated and sustainable work, play or living environments.
Each project is a unique solution based upon a thoughtful and engaging collaboration with our clients and community of users. Our process is founded on an investigation of all the factors that shape the response including the physical, functional and social context. Clients and team members are engaged at every level throughout the design and construction process fueling ideas and creating a process of exploration for all involved.
