Our projects are organized in collaborative studio teams, led by principals with experience in an exceptionally wide range of building types. Clients are thus assured design and management continuity and the personal attention of the principals.

Diana Pollard

Diana Pollard, AIA, LEED AP

Diana is a founding partner of the Studio of Architecture, LTD established in 1987. She contributes over 35 years of professional experience in architecture, landscape design, planning and sustainable design to the firm. She began her training in Landscape Architecture receiving a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree from Michigan State University. With a desire to better integrate the built environment, Diana went on to receive a Master of Architecture degree from UCLA. Having developed a deep appreciation for the California landscape and for the extraordinarily creative design community, she launched her career in Los Angeles and is now based in Tucson, AZ.

Diana has broad architectural and landscape design experience in single and multifamily residential projects, office, mixed use commercial, tenant improvement, corporate headquarters, hotel, government buildings and public parks facilities.  She also provides contributions in urban design, master planning and coordinates the sustainability strategies for the firm’s projects. Diana’s interest in creating sustainable buildings and landscapes started with her studies in Landscape Architecture. Blending the benefits of passive and active systems starts with thoughtful site planning and extends through all the buildings’ systems and components. As a commitment to her community she has contributed her time and efforts to numerous community based planning efforts including serving as a Board Member of the Venice Neighborhood Council and People for Parks, a parks and recreation advocacy organization.

Michael King, AIA

Michael is a founding partner of the Studio of Architecture, LTD with over 40 years of professional architectural experience. Michael is a Licensed Architect and a Certified Interior Designer with a professional degree in Fine Arts and Architecture from the University of Illinois. Michael started his career designing and building multi-family housing complexes in Manama, Bahrain while serving in the Peace Corps. He transplanted to San Diego, then to Los Angeles and is now based in Tucson, AZ.

Michael has an extensive background in architectural design and contributes practical experience in varied building types, drawing upon a family history of three generations in the construction industry.  Along with having taught and lectured at the University level, he has led winning design teams in nationally recognized competitions. Having architectural and interior design experience in a broad array of project types including apartments, hotels, restaurants, museums, gymnasiums, sports arenas, libraries, government buildings and single family residences, Michael brings a rich versatility to the firm.  

As a commitment to advancing the architectural profession and the built environment, Michael has served on several professional boards and public planning committees. He has served on the American Institute of Architects, LA Chapter continuing education committee, the Board of the American Society of Interior Designers, LA Chapter, the Board of the Venice Neighborhood Council and was appointed to the Architectural Advisory Committee for the City of Palm Springs.
